Got Eczema? Try Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion 02/08/2010
I started developing eczema on little spots on my hands and back this past winter. Like I said, the affected spots are little, but they’re darn itchy and the dry patches are just not cute. Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion claims to be a good treatment for eczema, psoriasis and other skin probs. So, I used in the entire bottle of this stuff to see how well it worked as a treatment.
The lotion is a little thin and runny, but it absorbs almost instantly. It’s very much a slap-on-and-go type of product, which is awesome in my book.
This is called a “shielding lotion” because it’s supposed to protect the skin from outside irritants, and it really does what it claims. I can still feel the lotion on my hands after washing them, but not that slick feeling like the lotion could be rubbed off. My hands just feel, well, shielded. It’s pretty nice.
Um, I'm not sure how natural some of the ingredients really are...just sayin'
The shielding properties allow the skin to heal over time. My dry itchy, patches went away in about a month, but since I ran out, my hands have been itching again. So, it’s a great treatment for eczema, but it has to be used regularly to keep the symptoms at bay.
My only gripe is the price. $18, plus California’s ridiculous 9.75% sales tax and 8 bucks for shipping, for a tiny 4 oz. bottle? Ouch. They should either lower the price or triple the size of the bottle to make it more recession-friendly.
Skin MD’s website shows a lot of before and after shots of eczema and psoriasis sufferers who have used this lotion as treatment with great results. So, if you’re skin probs are severe and you’ve exhausted pretty much all treatment options (or just don’t want to use prescription steroids), Skin MD Natural might be worth a try.

Drugstore Score: Physicians Formula, Sally Hansen, & Wet N Wild 02/08/2010
A few Physicians Formula bronzers were on clearance at Target. You know I love me some Shimmer Strips, so I grabbed one in Natural Glow, a shimmery peachy-muave-y-pink. Then, I stopped by Rite Aid and found Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Natural Shine Lip Glosses, normally $8, for 75% off! I saw the Wet N Wild Craze polishes, and at 2 bucks each (that’s the regular price, people!), I just couldn’t resist.

Quick Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil Swatches 02/04/2010
I wasn’t planning to go to Sephora, but I was in the mall and well, how could I just walk past it? Urban Decay’s display was right at the front of the store so I went straight for the 24/7 Eye Pencils, a fave of mine. I swatched a few on my hand. All of them are super pigmented and have a sheen to them. Love!
After swatching, I quickly left the store before I could buy anything. Man, was that hard. Anywho, enjoy the swatches.
- Mildew: deep green
- Binge: navy blue (I know, it looks blurple on my skin)

Midweek Mani: Misa Earthward 02/03/2010
Misa Earthward is one awesome color. Its deep brown color reminds of super dark chocolate, my fave. The shimmer gives it the right amount of pop. The formula is thick and smooth, opaque in two coats. Love it!
