Happy Monday, chicas!

Man, it’s hotter than a mutha here in LA. My Sigg bottle’s being refilled like crazy thanks to this weather. I looove these reusable bottles. They’re Swiss made with aluminum and the inside has a special coating that makes it able to handle more acidic liquids, like juices. Backpacker magazine named it “The World’s Toughest Water Bottle” and I def agree with them on the durability. I dropped mine, full of water, on tile and it didn’t scratch or shatter like a plastic bottle would (believe me, I’ve done that before, why do you think I ended up with a Sigg?).

They also have super cute designs! Check out mine below.

MySigg

You can customize your own design if none of the pre-made ones make you giddy like the green and yellow design made me. The price is a bit steep, but it’ll pay for itself in no time ’cause you’ll never have to buy bottled water ever again. Ever! Being green and saving green?! Awesome!

Now, you can keep yourself hydrated while being nicer to the planet. C’mon, get your Sigg on! Oh, could that be a new catch phrase? It’s catchy, no? Get your Sigg on! Lol! :-D

Happy weekend!

Look at what landed on my doorstep!

MacShipBox-wmMy MAC order! I know it’s just the box, but I love that the black color ties in with the brand.

Check out what I got!

MacHaul-wm

From the top: Pro Palette Eye Shadow Refills in Juxt, Sumptuous Olive, Dazzlelight, and Parfait Amour, Lipglass in Magnetique, 15 Pan Pro Palette, Lipglass in Buzz

MacLipGlass-Buzz,Magnetique-wmBuzz and Magnetique

I’d been lemming the eye shadows for-e-va, so I’m glad that they’re finally mine! Originally, I wanted to get the Fierce & Fabulous lipglass, but they were sold out. No worries though, I think I liked the Style Warriors packaging more than the color. Magnetique is just as fab. Buzz is as awesome as I’d hoped it would be. It’s the only thing from the Naked Honey collection that really caught my eye. The Pro Palette is perfect for organzing my ever growing eye shadow collection. Time to de-pot some eye shadows!

What makes this haul even better for me is knowing that I saved 25% on it! I loves me some friends & fam discounts!

I can’t wait to try everything, woohoo!

Any plans for the weekend, ladies?

Smooth Skin With St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control 06/26/2009

Get excited, we made it to Friday!

I may be ready for the weekend, but my skin sure isn’t. It’s def time to exfoliate. Usually, I make my own face and body scrub, but I think I need a little something extra to help with my acne and dreaded bacne. Time to whip out my trusty St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control!

StIvesScrubNot only does this baby scrub away dead skin, it also helps obliterate those evil zits with salicylic acid. I know it’s supposed to be a face scrub, but who says you can’t use it all over your body? Just be sure leave it on for a minute or two so the medicine has time to penetrate. Use this two to three times a week and your skin will be smooth and have less day-ruining zits in no time.

Speaking of smooth, here’s my fav Michael Jackson video, Smooth Criminal.

R.I.P. Michael. There will never be another King of Pop. We’ll miss you like crazy *tear*

DuWop Lip Venom V Discount Code Fail :( 06/25/2009

So, I went to the newsstand to find the coupon code for Lip Venom V in Us Weekly. I went through each and every page, every little post card that was in there. Nothing. Maybe the code was on a postcard that had fallen out. So, I checked the issue behind it. Nothing. I went through every single Us Weekly that was on the shelf. There was no code.

Is the code only for subscribers? Was it hidden somewhere in the story about the Gosselins? Did I read Duwop’s site wrong? Is Duwop messin’ with my head? Did I miss something?! Will it be in next week’s issue?

I’m disappointed and so sorry I couldn’t find the code. I will keep my eye out for the next issue and see what happens.

Anyone else try to find the code?

Again, I’m so sorry :(

UPDATE: Check the comments for a 20% off code! Thanks for the tip, Lola :-)

EmiJay Hair Ties: Awesome, Affordable Hair Accessories 06/25/2009

My usual “ouchless” hair elastics weren’t cutting it. They weren’t able to hold my hair in place for more than a half hour before having to be re-tied and left me with the dreaded crease, bump, whatever you call it, after taking off the elastic.  They also wore out on me after only a few uses. As for being “ouchless”? They lie! Total fail.

I needed something that could hold my hair without having to re-do it every few minutes, and not crease it. It also had to be affordable. I was willing to pay a bit more for a quality product, but nothing too outrageous. Did such a product exist?

Yes! EmiJay Hair Ties.

EmiJayHairTies-wm

Don’t they look like satin ribbons? Too cute! As you can see, these elastics come in eight colors, from your usual black and brown to your bright pink and orange. Each one is dyed by hand and stamped with a little heart at the end of each “ribbon.” Check it out.

EmiJayHairTieDetail-wm

How cute is this little detail? Love it!

As for being able to hold my hair, it can! No more re-doing it like every ten seconds. Also, they don’t give me the annoying hair crease.

When I don’t feel like wearing my hair up anymore, the hair tie doubles as a cute bracelet. Talk about a multi-purpose product.

Chris McMillan (celeb hair stylist), Sarah Jessica Parker, and Heidi Klum are a few celeb fans of these hair ties.

Even better, a portion of each purchase is donated to Locks of Love. Great hair accessories and giving to charity? Awesome. Oh yeah, the price isn’t bad either. $10.99 for a pack of eight. Sounds pricey, but it’s not if you don’t have to constantly buy those other hair ties anymore.

Did I mention that these were created by two fourteen-year-old girls?! A-maze-ing.

DuWop Lip Venom V: Twilight Makeup Available for Pre-Order 06/24/2009

DuWopLipVenomVLip Venom V, the limited edition Twilight gloss from DuWop is now available for pre-order.

Here’s a pic and speil straight from DuWop’s site:

This special limited edition Lip Venom is a sneak preview of our highly anticipated Twilight Venom, debuting this Fall. Lip Venom V is not your typical DuWop venom. Instead of a gloss, Lip Venom V is a shimmering crimson lip stain suspended in a venom-laced liquid lip conditioner with a bite, and contains argan, avocado, olive oils and vitamin E.

This product should be shaken before use to represent the blending of the human and vampire worlds…

The gloss stain looks pretty cool, but man, what a way to milk the Twilight fever. Hey, if I had an awesome book and movie I’d milk it too. Make that money, DuWop (also Summit and Stephenie Meyer)!

There’s a special discount code available in Us Weekly. I’ll stop by a newsstand and get the code asap so check back tomorrow!

Check out Lip Venom V here!

DIYDS (Do It Your Damn Self): Mascara Shield 06/24/2009

Welcome to another installment of DIYDS (Do It Your Damn Self)! A series where I share ways to make your wallet fuller without compromising your beauty routine.

So, you just finished putting on your eye shadow. It’s a wonderful, sexy, colorful version of the smokey eye. Then you apply mascara and your lashes end up nicely coated…along with your eyelids. Eye makeup ruined. Great, juuust great.

To keep mascara gunk off your lids, you could buy one of these for $10 (plus shipping and tax) OR spend zero dollars and use one of these…

biz&indexcards

Yes, index cards and business cards. The index cards can be cut into smaller pieces to better fit your lids (or under eyes). Just hold your card at your lash line and go to town with your mascara. With this DIYDS mascara shield, you can really jiggle the wand at the roots to get major volume without messing up the eye makeup you worked so hard on.

If you don’t have any index cards lying around, a pack of 100 costs $1.49 at Staples. Way better than shelling out 10 bucks, no?

Be sure to recycle your used pieces. They are paper, after all.

Go ahead, jiggle that mascara wand ;-)

Happy Sarcastic Wednesday, lol!
