I bought Sephora Hydrating & Smoothing Foundation ($20) at the beginning of summer and am just getting around to reviewing it, whoops! Since Lorac discontinued my fave Oil Free Makeup, I’ve had a hard time finding another foundation that wouldn’t make me breakout. That is, until a Sephora SA pointed me to this foundation.
It’s the perfect shade (I’m D30) that’s not too yellow or too pink. I love that the color doesn’t oxidize into a darker or orange-y shade like most foundations I’ve tried. The coverage is buildable and gives a natural-looking satin finish. Love that! Although it’s formulated for people with dry skin, it hydrates my oily skin without making me look even oilier. Also, it really does make my skin look smoother. Did I mention that it doesn’t make me breakout?
Yes, I like this foundation, but it’s not “the one” ’cause it fades by the end of the day and has a powdery-perfumey scent that’s a little off-putting to me. The scent fades once the foundation sets, so it’s not too bad. If it had better staying power, it would be perf for me.
Sephora Hydrating & Smoothing Foundation is an affordable (for Sephora) alternative to the pricier foundations sold there. It’d be great for people who don’t need much coverage and/or have dryer skin.
You can find it online, but you should def check it out in person as the color swacthes aren’t very accurate .
