Motivation For Your Monday: Office/Study Break Yoga 11/30/2009

Happy Monday, lovelies! I know it’s extra hard to get motivated coming off of our Thanksgiving weekend highs, but hey, we gotta do it. Whenever I feel like my head’s about to hit the keyboard from being tired, I take a little stretch break. Stretching is a great way to re-energize yourself without taking a nap, which can actually make you even more tired. The yoga poses in the videos below are great to do when you want to take a break in your office, cubicle, or from studying. Try these stretches when you start feeling the late afternoon tiredness today. I hope it perks you up for the rest of the day.

Have an awesome day! :-)

Share The Love: Sunday Reads 11/29/2009

Hey, ya’ll! How has your Sunday been? I’ve been lounging and watching the Travel Channel. There’s a new show on called Meet The Natives: USA, a show about five native men from Tanna who come to the states for the first time to spread their message of peace. In each episode, they live with a different family in a different city. It’s fascinating to see the way they see us, somewhat alien. All I have to say is, set your DVR! It’s a great show. Get all the deets on the show here. Anywho, here are some great Sunday Reads to relax with before another week. Enjoy!

China Glaze 2030 Wears Like Iron 11/29/2009

Happy Sunday, pretty peeps! I hope your Thanksgiving weekend has been relaxing and tasty. I started trying out my Khrome polishes from China Glaze that I bought awhile back. First up, 2030, a very metallic gold.

I admit it’s not the best picture, but you can sorta see how reflective it is. It reminds me of C-3PO from Star Wars, I just love it!

I love that this doesn’t show any brush strokes like most metallic polishes. The formula is pretty much flawless, but I did find that applying it a little differently helped in making it look smooth. My first attempt at applying this was a disaster because I applied it too thick. The key is to apply a thin coat, starting from the side of the nail, then middle, then the other side (instead of the usual middle, side, other side). You don’t really need a second coat, but if you want to add it, you should let the first coat dry for about five minutes. These dry really fast so putting on a second coat too quickly will ruin the first coat; I learned that the hard way. If you have a lot of ridges on your nails, you might want to use ridge filler as a base coat because this polish will show every single flaw.

What I love most about this polish, and most polishes from China Glaze, is that it wears like iron. This pic was taken after five days of wear! Of course a good base and top coat helps; I recommend Orly Bonder base coat and Poshe top coat. You can see that there’s some tip wear, but no chips. Amazing!

You can find China Glaze nail polish for less at Head2Toe Beauty.

Whatcha think? Do you love you some China Glaze too?
